This is the original app by Easy Park. I proposed these initial changes based on my experience using the app.
I conducted an online survey of Easy Park customers. They didn’t find the current app to be very well designed or easy to use.
I documented the signage on-site. All of these were within a few feet of each other, even some within inches of each other. The information overload made it difficult to understand.
I created a new user flow, making it possible to park and pay without having an account set up. This saves the user a lot of time and will make opting for the app more likely.
I explored three personas. A short-term parker, an occasional long-term parker, and someone mostly concerned with convenience and ease of use.

Paper prototyping was useful for quick ideas and changes. I tested the user flow this way before moving on to a digital prototype.
Once deciding on some initial screens to continue testing, I created a digital prototype in Sketch, and used InVision to test it.
User testing the digital prototype revealed that users wanted more assistance in finding their location. They preferred a map feature, so I adjusted the design to prioritize the map locator.
Users also expressed the need for a more intuitive map experience, even just within the prototype. I added the navigation along the top that carries through the rest of the prototype screens, and added the blue location dot that users are used to seeing in other map apps.
Users also expressed the need for more visual help on the “choose location” screen, so I added a highlight to indicate your found location. Based on user feedback I added an “add number to get text reminders” feature, for users who haven’t set up an account to stay updated on their current parking.
I finished this project with a higher fidelity prototype that simplifies the user experience, allows for faster parking payment, and has a new, clean, visual design.
